Who are the rulers and authorities?

God is making Jews and Gentiles one new body to demonstrate to the principalities and powers in heavenly places the manifold wisdom of God in the eternal purpose (Eph 3:10-11; 6:12).

KJV – Ephesians 3:10,11  10To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God, 11According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:

Eph 6:10 says we have a warfare in general between saints and spirit rebels who are against God. True believers wrestle against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. 10Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Four Kinds of Spirit Rebels:

1. Greek: archas (G746), principalities, chief rulers or beings of the highest rank and order in Satan’s kingdom (Eph 6:12; 1:21; Col 2:10)
2. Greek: exousias (G1849), authorities, those who derive their power from and execute the will of the chief rulers (Eph 6:12; 1:21; Col 2:10)
3. Greek: kosmokratoras (G2888), world-rulers of the darkness of this age, the spirit world-rulers (Dan 10:13-21 Eph 1:21; 6:12; Col 1:16-18)
4. Greek: pneumatika (G4152) tes (G3588) ponerias (G4189), spiritual wickedness, that of the wicked spirits of Satan in the heavenlies (Eph 6:12; 1:21; Col 1:16-18)

Spiritual Armor for Spiritual War

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” — (Ephesians 6:12)

Unfortunately, most of us don’t know the first thing about fighting the kind of war in this scripture. For, as Ephesians 6:10-12 says, it’s not a battle of flesh and blood, but of the spirit.

Most believers are so earthly minded (or carnally minded) that they never even realize the actual source of the enemy’s attacks. They blame circumstances and people. They waste their energy fighting natural conditions instead of supernatural causes.

We need to wake up to the warfare that’s going on in the heavenly realm!

We can get a glimpse of it in Daniel 10:12-20. There, we find that Daniel had been fasting and praying for 21 days, awaiting a word from the Lord. Then, an angel appeared to him 21 days later with the answer. What took him so long? He was fighting the enemy in the heavens.

That confuses some people. They say, “Devils fighting in heaven? I thought God reigned in heaven!” What they don’t understand is that the Bible teaches there are three different areas called heaven:

1. The heaven where God resides.
2. The stellar heavens (what we call “outer space”).
3. The heavens around this earth (the atmosphere surrounding this planet).

This last heaven is where spiritual war takes place. (That’s why Ephesians 2:2 calls Satan the prince of the power of the air.) The air is where wicked spirits operate. From there, they attempt to rule the nations assigned to them.

The Warfare

Christian warfare or conflict is with the devil and his wiles, with the principalities, the powers, the rulers of the darkness of this world, and with the spiritual armies of wickedness in the heavenly places (literal translation).

This revelation given here concerning the powers of darkness, the principalities, the rulers of the darkness of this world and the wicked spirits in the heavenly places, is important and demands closer attention.  The Scriptures clearly teach that there is a vast dominion of darkness over which Satan is the head and that, as the god of this present age, he has rulers over this world and a large army of wicked spirits in the heavenlies.  He is the prince of the power of the air.  The sphere above the earth, the aerial heavens and beyond are tenanted by these wicked spirits, which under the headship of Satan form with principalities and powers, his kingdom.  How mighty this being is, what powers are at his disposal how vast his dominion, how numerous the fallen angels, the wicked spirits which possess the heavenly places, no saint has ever fully realized, nor can it be all know, till the day comes in which the God of peace shall bruise Satan completely under our feet.  Satan has even access into heaven itself.  The first two chapters of the book of Job acquaint us with this fact.  See also 1Kings 22:19-23

But a day is coming when the old serpent, called the devil and Satan, will be cast out into the earth and his angels with him.  This will happen according to the Apocalypse (Rev. 12), when the saints of God are taken into glory and Michael begins his great war against Satan.  Then the heavenlies will be cleared of their wicked and unlawful occupants.  They will be forced to the earth, where Satan for a brief period will exhibit his great wrath and institute the great tribulation.  The devil and his angels will finally be cast into the lake of fire prepared for them (Matt. 25:41) Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.         All this we know from God’s revelation, and it is a solemn revelation.

In our days the masses of professing Christendom are wholly indifferent to these truths.  Others openly oppose them, sneer at them and reject them as superstitions. Well has it been said “No one but an unbeliever can overlook and despise them”.  Behind all these denials and sneers, coming from the camps of higher criticism and the new theology stands the dark shadow of Satan.  The rulers of darkness of this world, the wicked spirits, do all in their power to keep a lost world, with its supposed progress and scientific discoveries, in ignorance and darkness about themselves. And occultism, known by the names of spiritualism and psychical research, tries to establish communion with departed spirits in the heavenlies, who use this unlawful intrusion to delude their victims and make them doubly secure for the impending doom.

And these wicked spirits are against the masterpiece of God.  Those who are in Christ and lay hold in the power of His Spirit of the great and ever blessed truths revealed in this epistle, who know the hope of His calling, who rejoice in God and the glory to come, who walk worthy of the calling, come face to face with these powers of darkness.  They hate us as they hate Christ.

The wiles of the devil, not his power, we are exhorted to stand against.  His wiles are all aimed at getting us away from the enjoyment of the fellowship into which God has called us, the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord. If he succeeds in that he has dislodged us from our stronghold and then is able to attack us.  The world over which he rules is at his disposal, and he uses it to accomplish his sinister purposes.  Many pages could be written on his tactics and not the half would be told.  It is not so much by the gross things of the flesh and the world he works, though he also uses them; errors of all descriptions becoming more subtle and more cunning, are the chiefest wiles of this great being and the wicked spirits under his control.  And how well he succeeds in our present time!

So, is the U.S. a “free country” today?  Hardly! 

Not compared to what it once was.  Yet, very few Americans today challenge these Marxist institutions, and there are virtually no politicians calling for their repeal or even gradual phase-out.    While the United States of America may still have more freedoms than most other countries, we have nonetheless lost many crucial liberties and have accepted the major socialist attacks on freedom and private property as normal parts of our way of life.  The nation, whose founders included such individualists as Thomas Jefferson, George Mason, James Madison, John Adams and Patrick Henry, has gradually turned away from the principles of individual rights, limited constitutional government, private property, and free markets and instead we increasingly have embraced the failed ideas and nostrums of socialism and fascism.  We should hang our heads in shame for having allowed this to happen.

But, it is not too late to reverse these pernicious burdens and instead enact pro-freedom reforms to put our nation back on track again. It can be done.

In some ways the Left has a head start over us on the pro-freedom Right.  The enemies of American freedom do admittedly dominate the entertainment industry, television news media, and academia — but we have the tremendous strategic advantage that reality (including man’s nature) is on our side; so, unlike the socialists and “liberals” (welfare-state fascists), we are not in the position of having to advocate a system which constantly tries to “make water to go uphill” — or force human beings into a rigid utopian straitjacket based on the whims of some clique of central planning bureaucrats.  We know that individual freedom for peaceful people within a constitutional republic works in practice; our country’s history demonstrates that.  The piecemeal abandonment of those principles and institutions which once made America great has proved to be a a dead-end road to failure.  That is why I tend to be a long-term optimist even though things often look pretty glum in the meantime.  Just as Prohibition was eventually repealed, I feel encouraged that such key statist achievements as the income tax, government schools, fiat money/central banking (the Federal Reserve), “environmentalist” regulations, property forfeiture laws, and other Marxist planks and leftist institutions can be rolled back and repealed altogether, although it may take several decades.

Those who would carry forward the ideas and principles of self-ownership, private property, free markets, laissez faire, the rule of law, and constitutionalism which informed America’s founders must become more active on the key ideological battle fronts.  We need more influence not just in politics, but in areas of entertainment, academia, journalism, think tanks, churches (we need our own individualist Walter Rauschenbusch’s), literature, art, and other venues of expression and activism.

Marxism and socialism have proved to be colossal failures all over the world.  As Frederic Bastiat wrote in his classic The Law  just prior to his death, “let us now try liberty”!

Who Is Responsible for What Is Happening in the World Today Who is behind the current effort to create a New World Order?

The Trilateral Commission … is intended to be the vehicle for multinational consolidation of he commercial and banking interests by seizing control of the political government of the United States. 

 The Bankers … I am afraid the ordinary citizen will not like to be told that the banks can, and do, create money.  And they who control the credit of the nation direct the policy of Governments and hold in the hollow of their hands the destiny of the people.

The Central Bankers … the powers of financial capitalism had another far-reaching aim, nothing less than to create a world system of financial control in private hands able to dominate the political system of each country and the economy of the world.

The Council on Foreign Relations … The most powerful clique in these elitist groups have one objective in common – they want to bring about the surrender of the sovereignty and the national independence of the United States.

The Bilderbergers … Those who came were not the heads of states, but those who give orders to heads of states – in other words, the kingmakers.

The Club of Rome … a small cadre of obscure international bureaucrats are hard at work devising a system of “global governance” that is slowly gaining control over ordinary Americans’ lives.  Maurici Strong, a Canadian was the indispensable man at the center of this creeping UN power grab.

The Illuminati … it was this same remembrance, preserved, or perhaps profaned in the celebrated Order of the Templars, that became for all the secret associations, of the Rose-Croix, of the Illuminati, and of the Hermetic Freemasons, the reason of their strange rites, of their signs – and, above all, of their mutual devotedness and their power.

The Jews … some sincere people believe that the Jews, or the Jewish bankers, are behind the world conspiracy.  There are many clues that lead people to that conclusion, but I can assure you that the evidence has been planted to divert attention away from the truth.

The Jesuits … some Protestants believe that the Jesuits are behind our current problems.  Ignatius Loyola organized the Society of Jesus during the sixteenth century.  It was to be an army of priests dedicated to the defense of the Catholic faith and the pope.  In recent years, the goal of the Order has changed, and many priests are currently promoting Liberation Theology and Marxism.

The Masons … many Protestants are Masons, and one of the major objectives of the Craft is the destruction of the Catholic Church.  There is a good deal of evidence to substantiate their claim.  Many of the men who signed our Constitution were Masons, and a Masonic architect was commissioned to design the street plan for Washington, D.C. Every federal building in our nation’s Capital bears a Masonic plaque and five of our last eleven presidents have been Masons.  According to the book Ten Thousand Famous Freemasons, most of our state governors, judges, and legislators have been or are Freemasons.  The Masonic Order controlled the United States Supreme Court between 1941 and 1971 and drastically changed our society.  Four of the six Supreme Court Justices who voted to remove God and prayer from public schools were Masons.  The goal of Masonry has always been to change our nation from a Christian country to a secular society. 

The Rosicrucian’s … some people believe the Rosicrucian’s are the primary force behind world events.  The Order of the Knights of the Rose-Croix is an ancient secret society.  It originated with Christian Rosenkrantz, a German Knight who traveled to the near East to study Oriental magic.  When he died in 1484, he transmitted his arcane knowledge to eight disciples who swore they would never reveal his secrets outside their Order.

The Order of the Quest … some people believe that The Order of the Quest is the force behind unfolding world events.  Manly P. Hall wrote about it in his book, The Secret Destiny of America.  He noted that members of that secret group placed an unfinished pyramid on the back of the Great Seal of the United States back in 1782.    

On the reverse of our nation’s Great Seal an unfinished pyramid to represent human society itself, imperfect and incomplete.  Above floats the symbol of the esoteric orders, and one possible origin for these symbols, and that is the secret societies which came to this country 150 years before the Revolutionary War.  The Order placed the occult emblem on the back of the Great Seal; it remained hidden there for almost on hundred fifty years until Henry Wallace convinced President Roosevelt it should be displayed on the back of the dollar bill.  Both men were 32^nd Degree Scottish Rite Masons.

So, the Question is WHO?

Who Is Responsible for What Is Happening in the World Today Who is behind the current effort to create a New World Order?
